(January 15, 2010 - Columbus) The Columbus Stompers are kickin' up their heels and dancing up a storm for local charities!

In homage to the hit movie "Coyote Ugly," the Stompers took over Score Bar for the night, serving up drinks and showing off their dance skills.

Stompers made enough in tips for the evening to donate $201 to Camp Sunrise, a program which gives families impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic a chance to enjoy summer camp without the isolation and stigma often associated with the virus.

According to the organization's website, "The week at camp not only offers usual camp activities such as canoeing, hiking, and swimming, but it also offers special activities each year. Some of the most popular activities have been the talent shows, carnivals, and dances!" The program helps builds a community where kids and adults develop confidence, self-esteem and leadership abilities.

The Columbus Stompers are honored to help such a worthy cause.

The Stompers are planning to hold similar fundraisers on the third Friday of each month to benefit other local charities.

The next "Coyote Ugly" night will be at Score Bar on February 26th at 9pm with Stompers dancin' on the bar, slinging drinks, a 50/50 raffle and jello shots. Come join the fun!
