March 4, 2010 - Columbus) The Columbus Stompers have donated $500.00 to the Tyler Goolsby Scholarship Fund in honor of a dear friend and dancing colleague.

The scholarship was created in remembrance of 27-year-old Tyler Goolsby. Goolsby was was an award-winning Country-Western dancer and a proud member of the Lone Star Lariats dance team. He collapsed on July 4, 2009, during a rehearsal at the 16th Annual IAGLCWDC Convention in Washington, DC.

In the autumn of 2009, the IAGLCWDC Board of Directors established the Gooslby Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to dancers who otherwise couldn't afford to attend the annual convention.

Many members of the Columbus Stompers knew Goolsby and felt it was appropriate for the organization to contribute to the scholarship fund in his memory.

At the Stompers' general membership meeting, the unanimous vote to approve the donation was heart-felt.
